Barnacles and Barrels is a modular trap system for Unity that combines physics driven tongue creatures with explosive barrels. Create dynamic enemy encounters, environmental hazards, or puzzle traps!
Inspired by the classic crowbar wielding game design, this package includes:
- A fully rigged barnacle tongue system using Rigidbody chains and Configurable Joints
- Editor tools to build custom tongues in seconds
- Bone syncing scripts for smooth mesh deformation
- A complete exploding barrel prefab with physics interactions and customizable visuals
- Global PlayMaker events for easy integration into your existing systems (e.g., HEALTH / SUBTRACT, BARNACLE / GRABBED)
- A playable demo scene to test the systems in action
Everything is fully customizable! Swap out the included placeholder assets for your own and replace any PlayMaker actions to match your input system.
Designed in Unity 2021.3.40f1 and powered by PlayMaker.
The non-visual components of the asset (PlayMaker FSMs, prefab configurations, mesh-to-joint-syncing, etc) are agnostic to RP.
The visual placeholder assets would have to be manually converted from URP to other RPs.
